Ann Guptill Announced as New USDF Certification Examiner

            Lexington, KY (September 1, 2011) – The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) is proud to announce that Ann Guptill of East Haddam, CT, joins the team of USDF Certification Examiners.  "I am looking forward to contributing to the USDF Instructor Certification Program as an Examiner.  I have been a strong believer in the program since completing my certification in 1993 and have enjoyed teaching workshops throughout the country as a senior member of the faculty," stated Ann.
            Ann, a professional dressage rider, trainer and instructor, with a base operation at Fox Ledge Farm, competes with a variety of breeds and types of horses in dressage.  Throughout her career, Anne placed 5th individually at the 1987 Pan American Games and helped to secure the Team Silver Medal, competed in the final Dressage Selection Trials for the Olympic Games in 1992, placed 4th at the US League Finals for the Dressage World Cup in 1991 and 1992, and has won numerous regional and national titles at all levels of competition.  In 2010, Ann chaperoned The Dressage Foundation's Young Rider Olympic Dream Program trip, which takes four top young American dressage riders to Europe for a two week introduction to European Dressage each year.
            As a member of USDF, Ann has served as past chair of the Test Writing and Musical Freestyle Committees and currently serves as a member of the Instructor/Trainer and Freestyle Committees.  She is a graduate "A" of the United States Pony Club, serves as the District Commissioner of the Connecticut Valley Pony Club, her alma mater, and has mentored many young riders in their progress through the Pony Club ratings.
            Katherine Robertson, USDF Senior Education Programs Coordinator, states, "As a member of the faculty for over 10 years, Ann becomes the second member of our team of examiners who has been through the certification program.  She has been a dedicated member of our program and I am looking forward to her future involvement."
