Lexington, KY (October 9, 2023) - The United States Dressage Federation™ (USDF) is pleased to announce that Alice Burley, of Atlanta, GA, has been named 2023 USDF Youth Volunteer of the Year. This prestigious award honors one outstanding youth volunteer who has contributed, both nationally and locally, to USDF and dressage. As the winner, Alice Burley will be presented with a perpetual trophy, donated by the Akin family of Warwick, NY, in honor of Lendon Gray, which is on permanent display in the Roemer/USDF Hall of Fame. She will also receive a “keeper” trophy and be featured in the yearbook issue of USDF Connection.

USDF National Youth Programs Committee Chair Roz Kinstler adds, “Volunteerism is imperative to the success of USDF and our sport, and Alice embodies everything this award stands for. The impact of Alice’s volunteer efforts has been felt from local schooling shows all the way to NAYC. In addition to her outstanding volunteer efforts, Alice maintains a 4.2 GPA, while also gaining accolades in the dressage arena, where she is currently competing at Third Level and qualified for the 2023 Great American/USDF Region 3 Championships. Alice’s presence and influence certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by her peers, as many credit her for inspiring their own volunteer efforts. Ultimately, if Alice is a representation of the future of our organization and sport, I’m confident that both are in good hands!”
